The 27th ISSCT Congress, a global sugar industry Congress, just started in Veracruz, Mexico on March 7 and will be ongoing until March 11.

 The SOMDIAA Group will be represented in Veracruz through a 11-participant delegation including Managing Director Mr. Benoît COQUELET, the SOMDIAA Sugar Operation Department with Gervais NICOLIN, Thibault VIREMOUNEIX as well as sugar and sugar cane specialists from the SOMDIAA sugar busine sses:

 SOSUCAM (Société Sucrière du Cameroun) representatives: Benoît AHONDOKPE, Sylvain CHINNAYA, Pierre BOUELI and Charly NOULA;

SARIS-Congo (Société Agricole et de Raffinage Industriel du Sucre) representatives: Manguele DJON LI and Alain MAHOUNGOU;

CST (Compagnie Sucrière du Tchad) representatives: Saleh DOUCIA and Bekishiel NIBBE.

The ISSCT (International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists) is committed to the economic and sustainable advancement of the sugar cane industry throughout the world by promoting research, development, the adoption of new technologies and by sharing its knowledge among its members.

After two days of technical visits focusing on crops, automated processes, plants and co-products of the Mexican sugar industry participants to the ISSCT Congress will attend presentations of technical communications dealing with sugar cane research and development issues.  

The Congress is a sugar-themed meeting that will give the opportunity for participants from those countries to share precious knowledge on that subject, and above all on their savoir-faire in producing that global staple.
