On the African continent animal farming is increasingly developing as meat complements traditional food. This booming industry needs to be supplied with appropriate food. Crushing wheat as part of flour production (lien vers l'animation farine) yields by-products (about 20%) including bran, which is ideally suited for animal feed as it contains cellulose-based constituents (animal fibers), proteins, minerals and vitamins. In Gabon, the SMAG uses those by-products, bran, wheat shorts and wheat middlings in its cattle feed plant adjacent to its mill. Thus the SMAG markets its product line (mettre photo du sac Energie) for the poultry breeding plant of N'Koltang, the Group's layer hen breeding business, as well as for other poultry breeders, fish breeders, etc.
In order to provide all the nutrients required to maintain healthy animals and guarantee the expression of their genetic potentialities animal technicians and nutritionists within the SOMDIAA Group created formulas ensuring sufficient nutrient intakes including water, fat, carbohydrates, and mineral, nitrogen and vitamin concentrates while guaranteeing ingredient and mixture palatability and a favorable ingredient impact on the quality of products meant for human consumption. The SOMDIAA Group offers a wide variety of products under the name brand Energie Plus for the animal feed industry including specific food for chicks, layer hens, meat chicken, rabbits, horses, fish, etc. However, 92% of the food that is produced is for poultry farming
