Overview
SUCAF Ivory Coast was set up in 1997 following the restructuring and privatization of the sugar industry in Ivory Coast. It became part of SOMDIAA Group in 2010.
SUCAF Ivory Coast produces sugar canes through irrigated farming operations as well as from neighboring village crops.
Geographic Location
The two SUCAF Ivory Coast sugar manufacturing plants are located in Ferkessédougou in Northern Ivory Coast, near the Burkina Faso border (50 miles) and the Mali border (68 miles).
The Ferké 1 and Ferké 2 sites are located 22 miles from each other. The Ferké 1 plant produces white granulated sugar and lump sugar, and the Ferké 2 plant produces brown granulated sugar.
Key figures
The sugar cane farming area extends on 36,076 acres spread over both sites.
Production
- Today, both sites are able to harvest 1 million tons of sugar canes yielding 105,000 tons of sugar.
In 2011 and 2012, SUCAF Ivory Coast broke sugar production records.
